Applications are invited from qualified Indian nationals for a temporary contract position of Project Associate - I at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru. The vacancy belongs to a neurobiology and neuroscience research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).

Position & Salary	Essential Qualifications	Job Requirements & Scope
Project Associate - I PAT-I Emoluments: ₹ 37,000/- + HRA	M.Sc. in Natural Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, or related fields) or Medicine from a recognized University. Must meet one of the following: Qualified National Eligibility Tests like CSIR-UGC NET (JRF/LS) or GATE. Qualified National level exams conducted by Central Govt Departments and their Agencies/Institutions.	Conduct core R&D activities aligned with the neuroscience project goals. Core Focus Areas: Biochemical assays, mammalian cell culture studies, small experimental mouse model handling, gene expression analysis, and western blotting.

Desirable Experience & Selection Method

• Desirable Experience: Hands-on wet-lab experience in Molecular Biology, cell culture lines, and standard small experimental animal handling models.
• Shortlisting Criteria: In the event of a high application volume, the shortlisting committee may restrict candidate interview lists via:
  • Percentage of marks obtained in the core essential qualification.
  • Possession of higher post-graduate credentials or additional research experience.
  • Strength of desirable skills matching the project profile.
• Age Relaxation: Standard upper-age boundary relaxations apply: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Crucial Cumulative Service Cap Notice:

As per CSIR regulatory administrative guidelines (OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD), the maximum total duration a candidate can serve as project staff across all different CSIR labs cumulatively taken together cannot exceed 6 years under any condition. Candidates who have already logged 6 years of cumulative service are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
