The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is inviting applications from Indian nationals for three distinct Project Associate-I positions. This is a tremendous opportunity for Life Science and Biotech graduates to work in advanced research areas like Neurobiology, Cellular Aging, and Molecular Genetics.
💰 Salary & Age Limit
Remuneration
₹37,000 + 30% HRA
For candidates with valid CSIR-NET / GATE / DBT-JRF.
₹30,000 + 30% HRA
For others without NET/GATE.
Basic Eligibility & Age Limit
Qualification: M.Sc. / B.Tech in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Bioengineering / Chemistry with min. 70% marks.
Age Limit: 35 Years
📊 Vacancy Details & Required Skills
Post No. 1: Cellular Aging & Ribosome Biogenesis (1 Post)
Desirable Skills: Experience in budding yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) genetics, molecular biology, fluorescence microscopy (confocal/live-cell), and quantitative image analysis.
Job Role: Investigate how the material state of the nucleolus changes with cellular aging in budding yeast.
Post No. 2: Neurobiology & Behavioral Neuroscience (1 Post)
Desirable Skills: Mouse handling, stereotaxic workflows, rodent behavioral assays, DNA/RNA extraction from brain tissues, qPCR, and immunohistochemistry.
Job Role: Experimental support in neurobiological surgeries and researching neural circuit mechanisms underlying defensive states in mice.
Post No. 3: Immunology & Mammalian Cell Culture (1 Post)
Desirable Skills: Mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, mutagenesis, cloning, gene editing, and protein-protein interactions.
Job Role: Perform genetic screens and immunological assays to study human Butyrophilins and gamma delta TCR interactions with cancer cells.
