Junior Research Fellow (JRF) — 02 Contractual Posts
The Regional Research Centre of ICAR-IARI at Dharwad, Karnataka, is inviting applications for two purely temporary, contractual positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). These positions are distributed across two independent, prestigious research projects funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).
π¬ Project Details & Vacancies
1. ANRF-Advanced Research Grant (ARG) Funded Project
Title: “Enhancing Soybean Rust Resistance in DSb23 through Gene Pyramiding and Early Generation Marker-Assisted Selection”
Positions Available: One JRF
Fellowship: ₹37,000 + 20% HRA p.m. (1st & 2nd year); upgrades to SRF @ ₹42,000 + 20% HRA p.m. (3rd year).
2. ANRF-Core Research Grant (CRG) Funded Project
Title: “Mapping and Fine Mapping of Genomic Regions Associated with Dry Root Rot Disease Resistance in Chickpea”
Positions Available: One JRF
Fellowship: ₹37,000 + 20% HRA p.m. (1st & 2nd year); upgrades to SRF @ ₹42,000 + 20% HRA p.m. (3rd year).
π Eligibility & Experience Requirements
✅ Essential Qualification:
Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course (Master's degree in Plant Pathology / Genetics and Plant Breeding).
Candidates must be selected through national tests such as CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship) / GATE or competitive selection processes conducted by Central Govt. Departments/Agencies (ICAR, DBT, DST, ICMR, IISc, IIT, etc.).
⭐ Desirable Qualification:
Experience in field crop disease screening, pathogen isolation, inoculation, and disease scoring. Hands-on knowledge of molecular marker genotyping will be an added advantage.
⏳ Tenure: Contractual basis initially for one year, or till project completion (co-terminus).
