IISER Pune invites online applications from motivated Indian nationals for a temporary research position of Project Associate-I. The project is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, and centers on core cellular and regenerative plant biology.

Monthly Fellowship Structure

• ₹37,000/- + 30% HRA per month: For candidates possessing a valid CSIR-UGC NET / GATE / DBT-JRF qualification scorecard or an equivalent national-level examination certificate conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies.
• ₹30,000/- + 30% HRA per month: For other candidates who do not possess any of the above national qualifications.

Eligibility Criteria & Experience

• Essential Qualification: M.Sc. or B.Tech. degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Bioengineering fields from a recognized university.
• Minimum Marks Requirement: Candidates must possess at least 70% aggregate marks or equivalent grade. (Note: Additional percentage screening cut-offs may apply if a large volume of applications is received).
• Preferred Experience:
  • Prior wet-lab handling experience in molecular biology and genetics techniques is a mandatory pre-requisite.
  • Prior experience handling research microscopes and imaging. Specific exposure to Confocal Microscopy is highly desirable.
• Key Job Requirements:
  • Assisting with genetic screens in running experiments modeled on Arabidopsis root tip regeneration.
  • Generating customized molecular cloning tools necessary for project pipelines.
  • Performing advanced image analysis to quantify and evaluate plant cell geometry tracking.
